How to get there

You can reach Biscotasing by car but it isn’t recommended.

By car: Follow Hwy. 144 about 94 kilometres north of Cartier. Go west on Ramsay Rd. (the lumbering route). The road is gravel and driveable but not fast. Travel about 38 kilometres until you see the signs saying ‘Bisco’. The road becomes more narrow and winding. Keep going. There is crude signage along the way. After another 37 kilometres you’ll see the lake and old buildings. Total driving time on the lumbering road is about 1 1/2 hrs. each way.

By rail: Via Rail trains depart from Sudbury. Since there is no ticket office in Biscotasing, you must purchase tickets in advance. Schedule and reservation information is available from Via Rail.
