The O’Donnell roast yard in full production to support the war effort (circa 1916-17). Green and roasted ores were broken and shovelled in and out of the roasting beds with shear herculean use of manpower.

The bridge completed in 1918, just as the Great War drew to a close. Ore was spread by the use of conveyors, greatly diminishing the use for manpower.

The nearby Vermilion River supplied the yards and settlement with water as well as the town of Creighton Mine only a few kilometres east. The water mains and viaducts could still be found in the early 2000’s.

The townsite, now overgrown and difficult to find, lies just within a few steps of the bush.

Though rare, relics of the townsite can be found along Ellis and Vermilion streets, where the majority of the village 's activity was once centred.

Only the more substantial structures had foundations. The one time general store did and can still be identified to this day.
