How to get there

Michael’s Bay is located on Manitoulin Island, which can be reached either by bridge from the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy. 17) or by ferry from Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula. Once on the island there are several roads that lead to the townsite.

From Little Current take Hwy. 540 to West Bay, which is about 40 kilometres. Turn right on Hwy 551 and continue through Mindemoya where Hwy. 540 ends. From Mindemoya, continue on, following the 20th Side Road for about 10 kilometres to Tehkoummah-Providence Rd. Turn left and drive another 6 kilometres until you arrive at Michael’s Bay Rd. Turn right and drive to the end of the road. If you arrive at Penny Ave., you’ve gone too far. The townsite is located in a field off to the left, just north of the last bend and Penny Ave.

An alternate route is to follow Hwy. 6 for about 40 kilometres from Little Current until you reach Hwy. 542. Then turn right and continue 1 1/2 kilometres to Hwy. 542A. Turn left on 542A, drive another 2 1/2 kilometres until you reach the hamlet of Tehkoummah. Then follow the highway to the end and it will turn into Government Rd. Follow Government Rd. to Michael’s Bay Rd. Turn left and drive to the end of the road.
