Dalton Mills
Detailed Map

How to get there
Dalton Mills lies in Algoma District.
If leaving from Chapleau drive west along Hwy. 101 for 75 kilometres until you reach Hwy. 651. From Wawa, drive 64 kilometres east on Hwy. 101 to Hwy. 651. Travel north on Hwy. 651 for about 25 kilometres. Turn left on an unmarked and boulder strewn road. This road is recognizable by a very faded sign that reads “Dalton Camps.” Keep in mind that if you crossed the Windermere River bridge, you drove about 1 1/2 kilometres too far. Drive to the end which will bring you to the Shikwamkwa River (Lake).
The mill site lies along the shore line. Access to the townsite and cemetery is by boat only. The townsite and cemetery lie across the river and the bridge was washed out many years ago. The water is not deep and it is possible to wade across.
